# Miniature 3D printed Apple II with Raspberry Pi


I'm passionate about digital archaeology, retrocomputing and the history of technology. With inexpensive 3D printers and a profusion of emulators for nearly every type of old but popular computing systems now readily available, creating miniature and yet fully functional versions of iconic computers has become a very practical possibility. Here's my experience with building a miniature Apple II system.

### Building it

We 3D printed an Apple II case and its base by obtaining free designs for Thingiverse.

We finished the case by sanding it, coating it with primer and then painting it in the beige and brown color scheme of the original. Inside, we installed a Rapberry Pi 2 running the linapple emulator.
